Portable Gas Grill Review

If you want to buy a portable gas grill, you are in luck because there are quite a number of very good grills out there to choose from. The tricky part now is choosing which one is right for you.

From size to power to brand and, of course, how much you’re willing to spend, a few different factors do differentiate these different grills from one another. Here’s a run-down of possible factors you’ll have to weigh. This should help you get an idea of what you want, so it’s easier to find the right grill when you actually start shopping.

• Overall dimensions. How much space your portable gas grill takes up will affect where you can store it, and how easy it will be to bring with you wherever you are going. If either of these have specific limitations, do the math on reasonable dimensions and then limit yourself to grills that fit inside that.
• Grill top space. The actual grill surface area does differ some among portable gas grill options. Burgers for one versus grilled veggies to feed a crowd mean different grill-top space requirements. Purchase accordingly.
• Heat/power capability. Not all gas grills are created equal. Some portable gas grills can effectively char a steak or even cook a whole chicken, while others are a bit more modest. If you have certain foods in mind, make sure you get a grill that can do a good job of cooking them.
• Brand. If you plan to use your portable gas grill for a good long while, choose one made by a manufacturer with a reputation for reliable, well-built, long-lasting products. Good names in the grill arena are Coleman, Weber, Cuisinart, Viking, and similar.
• Price. How much you spend may very well be a factor. Weigh how often you plan to use the grill with how much you are willing to spend. Also consider any accessories (expanding stand, grilling tools, carrying case, etc.) that are included. A portable gas grill may cost anywhere from $35 to $300, depending on the various factors listed above.
